10 Things to do in Bandon Oregon; A Coastal Oasis

By Mariah Cannon

Bandon has got to be one of the cutest towns along the PNW coastline… Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself! 😉

Located in the more Southern end of the Oregon Coast about two and a half hours from Newport – Bandon offers epic coastal views, delicious places to eat, amazing hiking trails, and small town feels. This should definitely be on the top of your list on the Oregon Coast.

With a smaller population of 3,321 residents, it’s small enough for a peaceful stay, but it’s big enough to provide a little joy to anyone and everyone! I just recently visited in October of 2024 and couldn’t believe I hadn’t been here sooner! It’s so unique and had overall a lot to offer!

So, I’ve curated this ultimate list of some of the best things to do while visiting Bandon; from hikes to eats, and everything in between. Enjoy!

  1. Grab a bite to eat at Bandon Fish Market where you will find some of the best fish and chips along the whole Oregon Coast. They have a small, but cute building on the waterfront port of Bandon and both indoor and outdoor seating.
  2. Visit the Face Rock Creamery where you’ll find delicious made in house cheeses, ice cream, and tons of other items available for purchase. The pretzel and hot cheese is amazing.
  3. Take a walk through Old Town Bandon where you’ll find 10 blocks of fun locally owned shops, candy stores, toy stores, and more! I love the small town feel through here and everyone is so kind.
  4. Another incredible place to eat right down by the water front, is Tony’s Crab Shack. This place is full of character and seafood galore.
  5. Be sure to explore around Face Rock Scenic Viewpoint, a spot where you can literally pick out faces within the rock. There is a short .3 of a mile walk here that takes you around the area and during low tide, you might be able to find some sea-anemones!
  6. A super awesome landmark nearby Bandon is the Coquille River Lighthouse. Its located within Bullard’s Beach State Park and has tons of history surrounding how it came to be, the early settlers, and more.
  7. Continuing on with that theme, keep exploring Bullards Beach State Park where there’s miles of beach, hiking trails, views, and areas to picnic within!
  8. Take a hike to find the Lost Lake where you’ll find an epic fantasy looking lake and tons of greenery. It’s about 1.5 miles and under 100 feet of elevation change making it an awesome trail for kiddos.
  9. Visit Devil’s Kitchen, an Oregon State Park Scenic Vista Point where you’ll find jagged rock formations, gorgeous ocean views, and lots of unique rocks & sea life!
  10. If you’re looking for a morning pick me up or some delicious baked goods, Bandon Coffee Cafe is a delicious spot near Old Town to stop by. Everyone is so friendly and the vibe is super cozy!

Enjoy these things to do in Bandon? Be sure to save it for future travels!

Let’s Get Adventuring!

You can usually find me exploring with my dog Maverick, taking photos, planning my next adventures, or trying to find the world’s best ice cream.

Born and raised in rural Oregon, my love for adventuring was always there, but came on heavily in my late teenage years. I truly felt the need to see everywhere! So I began searching for the best places to visit in the U.S. and the best hikes in Oregon and was flustered with the lack of information on trails and areas – leading me to “Mariah Adventures” to create a travel and adventure blog to help everyone find places to explore!
